So you’ve always been interested in learning how to race or learning the limits of your car, but you know public roadways are not the place. Enter HPDE, or high-performance driver’s education. HPDE gives you a safe and affordable way to get on the track with no speed limits, no pedestrians, and no speeding tickets. Take to the track in your car alongside an experienced racing driver one-on-one and learn to take you and your car to the limit.
What Do I Bring?
To participate in HPDE, all you really need is a safe, reliable car and a helmet. Your car doesn’t have to be anything fast, and people bring everything from economy cars to exotic supercars.
Who Can Participate?
The minimum age to participate in HPDE is 18, or 16 with parental consent, but folks of all ages and from all walks of life come out to drive. Everybody from husbands and wives to teenagers are welcome to learn skills to make them faster on the track, and safer on the street.
Accidents
Crashes and body damage are very rare at HPDE events, but we always encourage you to check with your insurance carrier regarding their coverage on the race track. If they tell you that you aren’t covered, be sure to check your policy for a list of exclusions before taking their word as law.
Full Course
Students are split up according to their skill levels into one of four groups, with group one being beginners, and four being experienced drivers. There are no speed limits in any of the groups, and novice drivers are assigned a professional instructor for their safety.
